Affiliate Disclosure & Privacy

How LockLore makes money

LockLore is reader-supported. Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click one and buy from the vendor, we may earn a commission from that vendor. That commission comes out of the vendor's pocket — it never adds any cost for you; you pay the same price you would pay going to the vendor directly.

What commissions don't do

  • Commissions never change our rankings or picks. Tools are chosen by the four tests on our about page — pricing transparency, a real free trial or tier, easy cancellation, and beginner-friendly setup.
  • No vendor can pay to be listed, ranked higher, or reviewed more favorably.
  • We recommend tools we would point a friend to, including in cases where a commission is small or a program changes.

A note on prices

Prices, plans, and features change often — sometimes without notice. That's why our guides describe tools qualitatively and send you to the vendor's own page for current pricing. Always confirm the current price, the renewal price, and the terms on the vendor's site before you buy.

Privacy, in short

  • No accounts. LockLore has no logins, sign-ups, or user profiles.
  • No personal data stored. We don't collect or store your personal information on this site.
  • Aggregate analytics only. We may use privacy-respecting analytics that report overall traffic patterns (such as how many people read a guide), never your individual identity.
  • Other sites have their own rules. When you click through to a vendor, that vendor's own privacy policy applies to anything you do there.
